How do you determine the number of security guards that you need to employ at your event?

  2. The number of entry/exit points. Each point will need a security person to prevent the entry of unwanted guests.
  3. The dignitaries available. Events with VIPs and celebrities will need heavy security
  4. The venue. An event located in a high-risk area will also require heavy security in case of an attack
  5. …and so forth!

Printed badges with QR code: QR codes are an effective way of controlling people access than wrist band and lanyards which can easily be duplicated. QR codes are a unique ID that gives attendees a right of entry to various facilities within the event. They enhance security by keeping away uninvited guest from accessing the event and controlling entry to special areas.

RFID: RFID which means Radio Frequency Identification is a technology that uses radio waves to track tags containing information. They can be inserted in the wrist band and scanned during checking to authenticate access to the event. They are better than paper tickets in that they cannot be duplicated or easily lost.

Facial recognition technology:  Facial recognition is intelligence that distinguishes one facial feature from all the others in the database. Before the event, the attendee will need to send their photo for upload. When they check-in, the software will be able to recognize their face and trigger badge printing in addition to validating entry to the designated point. This provides excellent security by ensuring only the registered attendees enter the facility.

Event floor plan: Regardless of the nature of the event, it is important that the attendees have a visual of the venue layout. They should be able to know the exit points in case of a fire or any other emergency. Your attendees should also have emergency contacts that they can use in case of a security breach.

Medical support: The event should have a team of medical personnel on standby in case of injury or harm caused by an insecurity incidence. Setting up a medical camp will minimize the emergency response time. There are various risk factors that could pose a threat to an attendee’s life depending on the nature of the event. With a medical personnel present, the attendees will be able to get the medical attention they need.
